EducationK Puspa16 Oct 2026

Hyderabad, Oct 16: PwC India today announced the launch of the Aspiring Women Leaders Scholarship, an initiative aimed at empowering the next generation of women leaders in technology. With women continuing to be underrepresented in the technology workforce, the scholarship is a deliberate step towards addressing this gender gap and ensuring more equitable access to opportunities in the sector. The initiative reflects PwC India’s Vision 2030, a commitment to building a Viksit Bharat by enabling the youth of the country and supporting the development of a skilled, future-ready workforce.

The Aspiring Women Leaders Scholarship is designed to provide targeted support for female students, from India’s prestigious academic institutions – Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, and other empanelled institutes. The scholarship will initially be open to eligible students entering their second year of Bachelor of Technology (BTech)/ Bachelor of Engineering programmes at the participating institutions, which will continue for the remainder of their course. In subsequent years, the programme will expand to include first-year students, extending the opportunity to support promising young women from earlier in their academic journey. The scholarship also aims to support women from modest economic backgrounds, ensuring that opportunity remains inclusive and reaches students from diverse contexts.

“India’s future depends on giving every young person the opportunity to realise their potential. We believe that creating more equitable pathways for women in technology is an important part of that future. Through the Aspiring Women Leaders Scholarship, we are doing our part to open doors for women by supporting their education, skills and career journeys. Our hope is that these opportunities will help nurture a generation of talented women leaders who will shape India’s growth and create a more inclusive future,” said Sanjeev Krishan, Chairperson, PwC in India.

Candidates are selected through a structured, multi-stage process designed to ensure both merit and fairness. This includes an eligibility screening, an online assessment, and panel interviews conducted by a committee comprising PwC India leaders and external experts. Final selections are made in consultation with the respective institutes.

The scholarship will cover entire academic fees for selected students, provide state-of-the-art laptops, and offer continued mentorship opportunities, technical workshops, voluntary internships, and pre-placement opportunities with PwC India where eligible. Through this combination of financial empowerment and opportunities for learning and professional exposure, the initiative aims to help students take confident steps towards their careers.

Vivek Prasad, Chief People Officer, PwC India, added,

“We believe empowering women in technology is key to driving innovation and growth in India’s digital future. This scholarship exemplifies our ‘skills-first’ approach to talent development and our commitment to building a strong pipeline of women leaders.”

PwC India is committed to driving inclusive growth and empowering the next generation of women leaders to shape a brighter, more equitable future. More details can be found on pwc.in.
