New Delhi, Oct 7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 10th India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026 on October 8 at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi, bringing together global technology companies, policymakers, startups, investors and industry leaders to discuss the future of connectivity and digital innovation.
Organised jointly by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), the four-day event is being held from October 7 to 10.
This year's theme, “Scale Without Boundaries,” reflects India's growing ambition to expand its digital capabilities and use emerging technologies to drive economic growth, improve connectivity and create new opportunities for businesses and citizens.
The event will be guided by four key themes — Srishti: Building the Future, Samvardhan: Fueling Growth, Sashakt: Expanding Opportunities, and Suraksha: Strengthening Trust.
Together, these themes will focus on technology innovation, next-generation digital infrastructure, inclusive access to digital services and the development of secure and reliable digital ecosystems.
The focus is expected to extend beyond telecom networks, highlighting how advanced connectivity and emerging technologies are increasingly influencing industries such as manufacturing, transport, mobility, healthcare and enterprise services.
IMC 2026 will showcase developments across nine major technology sectors, including 5G and 6G, AI-powered networks, semiconductors, non-terrestrial networks, cybersecurity, quantum communication, enterprise transformation, circular economy and ESG, and electronics manufacturing.
Four additional areas — smart mobility, stadium experiences, industrial robotics and transport technology — have also been included in this year's programme.
The expanded focus reflects the rapid convergence of telecom, artificial intelligence, electronics, automation and physical infrastructure.
The event is expected to draw more than 1.5 lakh visitors from over 100 countries, highlighting its growing international profile.
More than 500 partners and exhibitors, 600 startups and 900 technology thought leaders are expected to participate. The event will also showcase more than 2,000 technology use cases and host over 120 sessions covering innovation, policy, business and emerging technologies.
For Indian startups and technology companies, the congress offers an opportunity to demonstrate products, connect with investors and explore partnerships with global businesses.
The India Mobile Congress comes at a time when India is expanding its digital infrastructure while seeking to strengthen domestic capabilities in areas such as telecommunications, electronics and semiconductor manufacturing.
Technologies such as 6G, AI, quantum communication and industrial robotics could play an important role in shaping the next phase of India's technology economy.
The event is therefore expected to serve not only as a showcase for new technologies but also as a platform for discussions on investment, innovation, skills and global collaboration.
With its expanding international participation and wider technology focus, IMC 2026 is set to highlight India's growing role in the global digital ecosystem and its ambition to build technology capabilities that can scale across markets.
