India, Oct 22: Mumbai has ranked 17th in Asia Pacific and 91st globally in the Next-Generation Wealth Hubs Index, according to Savills Spotlight on Wealth Trends 2026, published by Savills Research.
The second edition of the report examines the Great Wealth Transfer and the next generation of wealth, exploring how evolving wealth patterns are reshaping the global landscape of wealth hubs.
The Next-Generation Wealth Hubs Index assesses more than 100 wealth hubs worldwide across four key pillars: business, governance and connectivity; wealth clusters and local environment; wealth management and taxation; and lifestyle. The index provides a framework for understanding the factors that shape the appeal of wealth hubs to the next generation of wealth holders.
On India, the report notes that family offices are playing an important role in structuring investments, succession planning and philanthropic activity. Real estate remains a cornerstone of wealth preservation and family legacy, often acquired with future generations in mind. Across India and Vietnam, wealth continues to be generated through entrepreneurship, technology, manufacturing, financial services and real estate development.
“Mumbai’s presence in the index reflects the pace of domestic wealth creation in India and the growing role family offices play in structuring investments, succession planning and philanthropy. Real estate remains a cornerstone of wealth preservation and family legacy, often acquired with future generations in mind, and we are seeing demand grow for luxury living, wellness-focused services and convenience-led residential products,” said Arvind Nandan, Managing Director, Research, Savills India.
Looking ahead, the report names India, alongside Vietnam, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, among the dynamic economies attracting attention through strong wealth creation, infrastructure investment and improving lifestyle credentials. Across Asia Pacific, the wealth environment is often defined by the interaction between new wealth creation and family-led capital planning.
