May 13, 2026: Sports brand PUMA India introduces the Palermo Jamun - a fresh take on its iconic terrace sneaker, reimagined through a distinctly Indian lens. Known for its legacy of evolving colourways and cultural crossovers, PUMA’s Palermo returns this season dipped in a shade that feels both personal and familiar – jamun at its ripest. Conceptualised and designed in India in collaboration with premium streetwear brand Superkicks, the sneaker comes into two colourways – Berry and Stain - it’s a memory, translated into design.
Rooted in PUMA’s iconic Palermo silhouette, the sneaker carries forward its terrace legacy - clean lines, signature T-toe construction, and a timeless gum sole. Originally born out of 1980s UK terrace culture, where football and fashion collided, the Palermo has since evolved into a global cultural marker. With the Jamun edition, it takes on a new identity - one shaped by Indian summers and the stories they hold. This narrative extends beyond memory into design expressed through two distinct colourways. The first arrives drenched in a rich, saturated purple with striking green accents, capturing a more expressive energy. In
contrast, the second silhouette takes on a clean white base that evolves with wear, designed to mirror the organic staining of jamun over time. Each pair shaped by individual journeys.
Step into this sneaker, and it feels like a Summer at Nani’s house. Deep, sun-warmed purple evokes a certain kind of nostalgia – one rooted in slow afternoons, courtyard chaos and jamuns plucked straight off the tree. endless summer days with nowhere else to be, and memories that quietly stay with you long after. The Palermo Jamun captures that feeling — instinctive, playful, and deeply familiar — translating a lived memory into something you can carry forward.
Created in collaboration with Superkicks, the drop anchors itself in India’s evolving sneaker and street culture - where global silhouettes are reinterpreted through local narratives, and personal memory becomes a form of expression.
Limited and exclusive to the season and created in collaboration with Superkicks, the Palermo Jamun is available across select PUMA stores, the PUMA website and app, Superkicks outlets and its native website.
