Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Manish Tiwary, Chairman and Managing Director, Nestlé India, said,

“The Sanand factory reflects Nestlé India’s unwavering commitment to India’s growth story and our belief in investing for the long term. Over the last five years, the factory has evolved into a strategic manufacturing hub that plays a critical role in serving consumers not just across the country, but across the South-Asia Region with some of our most loved brands. Beyond manufacturing excellence, the facility represents our commitment to creating shared value through local employment, inclusive growth, responsible sourcing, and sustainable operations. We are grateful to the Government of Gujarat, our employees, partners, and the local community for their continued support in making this journey successful.”

Over the last five years, the Sanand factory has established itself as an important pillar of Nestlé India’s manufacturing network. The facility employs approximately 700 employees, including approximately 25% gender diversity, and has created opportunities for a young workforce with an average age well below 30 years. The factory also has about 20 people with special abilities across the noodles production line.

Sustainability remains at the core of Sanand’s operations. The factory has installed biomass boilers to increase the use of renewable fuels and reduce its environmental footprint. It has also adopted natural gas in ovens, improved energy efficiency and currently sources 28% of its energy from renewable sources. Water stewardship initiatives include the construction of 82 percolation wells to support groundwater recharge and conservation.

The Sanand factory has also played an important role in strengthening local supply chains and supporting the regional economy. The facility sources key agricultural raw materials locally, including wheat flour and tonnes of oils, while working with approximately 38 local suppliers for raw and packaging materials.

As Nestlé India looks ahead, the Sanand factory will continue to play a pivotal role in supporting the Company’s growth ambitions, delivering high-quality products to consumers, advancing sustainable manufacturing practices, and contributing to inclusive development in Gujarat and beyond.
