Rural women entrepreneurs associated with Sakhi Mandals across Jharkhand's 24 districts and 264 blocks will be assessed to identify high-potential enterprises.
Kolkata, May 13: : IIM Calcutta Innovation Park (IIMCIP), a leading national social impact incubator, has reinforced its long-term commitment to building an inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem through a three-year partnership with the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS) aimed at strengthening women-led enterprises across the state.
Under the initiative, rural women entrepreneurs associated with Sakhi Mandals across Jharkhand's 24 districts and 264 blocks will be assessed to identify high-potential enterprises and entrepreneurial talent. From this, the top 500 women entrepreneurs will be selected and provided advanced training in enterprise and business management, equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and capabilities required to build and scale sustainable businesses. The programme is expected to create a pipeline of growth-oriented women-led enterprises while strengthening the state's grassroots entrepreneurship ecosystem.
As part of the initiative, IIMCIP will serve as the incubation and capacity-building partner, working closely with JSLPS to support women entrepreneurs in strengthening market access, improving business performance, enhancing competitiveness, and unlocking income growth opportunities. Participants will gain exposure to advanced business practices, mentoring, and entrepreneurial development frameworks aimed at helping them build sustainable and scalable enterprises.
The programme will also focus on developing incubation capabilities within the state's entrepreneurship ecosystem by building the capacities of JSLPS officials and community resource persons. In addition, efforts will be made to strengthen local incubation infrastructure to ensure continued support for rural entrepreneurs beyond the duration of the programme.

As a torchbearer of women entrepreneurship, Dr VK Rai, CEO, IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, said, “Women entrepreneurs, particularly from the grassroots, represent a significant opportunity to drive inclusive economic growth in India. Their talent, ambition, and entrepreneurial potential deserve all the opportunities our ecosystem can provide. Our purpose and role at IIMCIP is to transform this powerful potential into sustainable businesses that generate a lasting impact for their families and communities.”
