Hindustan University Polo Team Clinches Exhibition Title at Bangalore Polo Season

Chennai, 26 August, 2026: The Hindustan University Polo Team emerged victorious at the Bangalore Polo Season, defeating the Billionaire Polo Club 4–3 to clinch the THE ONLY ONE CUP- EXHIBITION TITLE GAME The match was played at the ASC Bangalore Polo Grounds and brought together the university team and a strong line-up of budding and experienced polo players.

The victory marks the university’s first major polo title at the Bangalore Polo Season, further strengthening Hindustan University’s focus on competitive and high-performance sports.

The closely contested match saw Hindustan University put up a strong performance against the Billionaire Polo Club. After trailing by 3-2 at the end of second chukker,  Hindustan University eventually secured the 4–3 victory, , Wasim Akram scoring 2 back to back goals in the last chukker The Hindustan University line-up comprised capt Shanka Poondi / Vrigrahaj Singh Kothariya (-2), Salim Mahmood (-1), Wasim Akram (0), and Junaid Nahri / Maj Mayank (+1). The Billionaire Polo Club fielded Patron Arjun Reddy (-2), Raghuram Hari / Gule Rasool Khan (0), Maj Raumik Sharma (0), and Lt Col Yatinder (0).

The trophy was presented by Brigadier Vikram Shekhawat, Sena Medal, Commandant, Army Service Corps (ASC) Centre (North). Brig GS Pandher, Sena Medal, who is also part of  the National Selection Committee for Indian Polo Association.
