ECL transforms junk room into modern Crèche facility

 

 

Asansol, Nov 01: Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has transformed a large room previously used for storing junk and discarded materials into a beautiful, fully equipped crèche facility at its headquarters here in Sanctoria, demonstrating how effective space utilisation can contribute to employee welfare and workplace improvement.

 

The newly developed facility was inaugurated by Shri Gunjan Kumar Sinha, Director (Human Resources), ECL, along with Shri Chitaranjan Kumar, Director (Technical/ Operations), ECL, marking a significant step towards creating a family-friendly, inclusive and supportive work environment.

 

Developed after clearing accumulated junk and reclaiming the unused space, the crèche provides a safe, comfortable and nurturing environment for young children of employees. The facility aims to help working parents balance their professional responsibilities with childcare needs, particularly supporting working mothers.

 

The transformation reflects the spirit of Special Campaign 6, under which ECL has undertaken cleanliness, space optimisation and workplace improvement initiatives across its operational areas and administrative establishments. The project demonstrates how an underutilised space can be converted into a meaningful facility that directly benefits employees and their families.

Beyond improving workplace infrastructure, the initiative underscores ECL's commitment to employee well-being, gender inclusivity, work-life balance and a progressive organisational culture.
