Canara Bank Kolkata Circle Marks 80th Independence Day with CSR Initiatives for Education, Girl-Child Welfare and Rural Development

Canara Bank, Circle Office Kolkata, celebrated the 80th Independence Day with a special focus on social responsibility and inclusive development.

The programme was graced by Shri Binod Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of School Education, Government of West Bengal.

As part of the celebrations, Canara Bank undertook key CSR initiatives focused on education, girl-child welfare and rural development.

Scholarship assistance was extended to deserving students from economically disadvantaged sections to support their education.

The Bank also supported the construction of girls’ toilets in rural schools, promoting safe and hygienic learning environments.

Further, Canara Bank undertook the adoption of a village to support basic amenities and overall rural development.

These initiatives reaffirm Canara Bank’s commitment to education, empowerment, inclusive growth and nation-building.
