AstraZeneca appoints Naveen Krishna Yamarthi as Managing Director, AstraZeneca India Private Limited (AZIPL) and Head of Global Innovation & Technology Centre, Chennai

Chennai, 04th November 2026: AstraZeneca announced the appointment of Naveen Krishna Yamarthi as Managing Director AZIPL and Head of its Global Innovation & Technology Centre (GITC), Chennai, effective 30 October 2026. 

In this role, Naveen will lead the next phase of GITC Chennai’s evolution as a strategic, multi-functional innovation hub, bringing his proven expertise in scaling and transforming Global Capability Centres into true innovation engines to an even broader mandate, advancing AstraZeneca’s Bold Ambition 2030.

A seasoned technology leader, Naveen brings more than 22 years of experience building and scaling Global Capability Centres (GCCs), with deep expertise in technology and business transformation.

At AstraZeneca, previously Naveen held key leadership roles in Operations IT, leading IT Capability and IT Solutions & Service Delivery for the Global Supply Chain, Global Procurement and Manufacturing business units.

Prior to AstraZeneca, Naveen was the Managing Director at Enlighted Energy Systems Private Limited, where he established its Global Capability Centres.
