Acquisition strengthens Ascentium India's international tax and cross-border advisory as cross-border M&A, NRI investment, and global mobility reshape client needs
Mumbai, Oct 12: Ascentium India (formerly InCorp Advisory), an Ascentium Group company, has acquired the consulting and advisory division of PR Bhuta & Co. (PRB), a Chartered Accountancy firm specialising in FEMA, international tax, and cross-border regulatory advisory.
The acquisition brings PRB's 47-year track record and specialist expertise across FEMA Advisory & Compliance, International Taxation, Transfer Pricing, NRI Taxation, Valuation and Cross-border Structuring into Ascentium India's broader platform across tax, regulatory advisory, restructuring, fund services and international expansion.
Commenting on the ocassion, Manish Modi, CEO of Ascentium India, said: "Cross-border decisions rarely sit within one discipline. A single investment or transaction can raise FEMA, tax, valuation and structuring questions simultaneously, and clients should not have to reconcile that advice across multiple advisers. For over four and half decades, PR Bhuta & Co. has built deep technical expertise and trusted client relationships in this space. Bringing that capability into Ascentium India allows us to offer clients a more integrated approach to their cross-border requirements, while maintaining the continuity and depth that have defined PRB's work."
The acquisition comes at a time when increasing cross-border activity is driving demand for integrated professional services. Growing inbound and outbound M&A, NRI investment, and rising global mobility are creating transactions that increasingly involve multiple regulatory, tax, structuring, and valuation considerations. The combination of PRB's specialist capabilities with Ascentium India's wider platform enables clients to access these capabilities through a single integrated team, from structuring through to ongoing compliance.
PRB’s consulting and advisory division has delivered consistent multi-year revenue growth, and the acquisition adds a 47-year track record in a specialist practice that has been built over decades.
As part of the transaction, PRB's leadership team joins Ascentium India. CA Pankaj Bhuta, Founder & Principal Advisor, is a recognised FEMA and cross-border expert with over 47 years of experience. Partner CA Harshal Bhuta is a distinguished professional regularly featured in prominent media outlets for his expert commentary on complex cross-border tax issues.
CA Pankaj Bhuta said: "PR Bhuta & Co. has been built over more than four and half decades on trusted relationships and technical expertise. Our clients will continue to work with the same team and the same focus, while gaining access to Ascentium India's broader range of capabilities as their needs evolve."
CA Harshal Bhuta said: "Cross-border transactions and regulatory requirements are increasingly interconnected. Combining PRB's experience in international tax and FEMA with Ascentium India's broader platform allows us to advise clients across the different aspects of a transaction, rather than approaching each requirement in isolation."
The acquisition further strengthens Ascentium India's cross-border advisory capabilities and its ability to support corporates, promoters, family offices, NRIs, and international investors across the lifecycle of their international transactions and investments. With PRB's specialist expertise and leadership now integrated into the platform, Ascentium
India will continue to build its cross-border practice around technical depth, continuity and integrated advice.
