Rooted in agrarian traditions, the festival is a reminder of gratitude for abundance and is celebrated across households with vibrant rituals, colourful pookalams, and most importantly, the grand Onam Sadhya.

Lunch Buffet at Cubbon Pavilion:

At Cubbon Pavilion, the specially curated Onam Sadhya will be served in an ambience that reflects the vibrancy of the festival. The restaurant will be decorated with traditional Onam-themed décor and floral arrangements, while the service team will be dressed in festive attire to enhance the celebratory experience. The menu features a wide array of classics including Avial, Olan, Kootu Curry, Erissery, Murungakkai Sambar, and Parippu Thalichathu, complemented by accompaniments such as Kaya Varuthathu (banana chips), Puli Inji (tamarind and ginger chutney), Naranga Achar (lemon pickle) and crisp Pappadam. No Onam is complete without sweets, and indulgent favourites such as Pal Ada Payasam and Parippu Pradhaman round off the feast. Available from 26th August to 5th September, the specially packed meal includes favourites such as Avial, Olan, Kootu Curry, crisp Pappadam, and the much-loved Pal Ada Payasam.
