According to NASSCOM's AI Adoption Index, India has a score of 2.45 out of 4. This indicates that 87% of companies are actively using AI solutions. Key sectors adopting AI include industrial and automotive, consumer goods and retail, banking, financial services and insurance, and healthcare; collectively, these sectors contribute approximately 60 percent of the total value derived from AI. Active smart phone users are 900 million as per TRAI as on April 2026 in India.
Memory and thinking are primary functions of the brain that facilitate reasoning, learning, and the management of emotions; all of these rely on signals received through sight, hearing, taste, and smell. Learning through reasoning and controlling emotions constitutes human intelligence.
The human brain has five external sources of data: sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. Nowadays, technology is creating new tools that generate data for machines. Algorithms are being developed to work around the clock, addressing gaps or unknowns in situations where humans do not interact with machines. It seems that the curiosity to understand the unknowns—those factors that could not be incorporated into decisions based on actual data—will drive new innovations aimed at minimizing or eliminating such unknowns from the decision-making process. Recent technological advancements are conditioning people to rely on the easy or free use of various tools, which could become a hindrance or obstacle to fresh thinking.
Recent technological advancements are not natural or organic; rather, they are products of human intelligence. Consequently, Artificial Intelligence (AI) relies entirely on experiences derived from human activities. Artificial Intelligence is, in fact, a form of human intelligence.
This type of intelligence has been discussed in detail. Millennials have witnessed the evolution of technology, seeing it advance from meeting basic human needs to fulfilling more complex requirements. In contrast, 'Generation Z' was born into an era of mature technology and a landscape of information that undergoes rapid, frequent upgrades. Adopting and using technology comes naturally to 'Generation Z,' enabling them to learn at a fast pace without the need for extensive deliberation or analysis.
It is a misconception that today's technology possesses its own thought process. In reality, the thought process of technology is a form of imitation. Tasks involving memory and analysis are now being entrusted to Artificial Intelligence (AI). In a fiercely competitive environment, AI could outpace humans in the realm of thinking. This is because the thought process of the current generation is increasingly narrowing down to a single direction. This is an issue that technology experts need to address in a timely manner. Education, sports, and cultural activities should be integrated into the curriculum in an interactive manner. Teachers should design activities that encourage the mind to think in diverse directions, thereby fostering new insights. At the same time, skills such as memorization and analysis should be incorporated into the learning process to sustain human potential.
